When I was a kid, Christmas was such an unforgettable time of year. There was always one tradition that made it even more special for all the kids in the family: decorating the Christmas tree. It was a tradition that has been going on for a long time in the family. The adults used to offer us a ladder or a helping hand to reach into the bushy tree to place lights or decorations. It was a great occasion and me my brother and my younger cousins all had a blast. It was almost as good as getting presents on Christmas day!

Now that I am older, I’m glad that the tradition still continues. I don’t have any kids of my own, but every year, around December 20th, my sister’s kids and my cousin’s kids come over to my place to decorate the tree. The kids have the time of their lives and in a way, I feel like a child all over again.
